So, here’s some exciting news. My book ‘True You’ (available on Amazon) is on its way to my house. My publisher (Broadstreet Publishing) has let me know that my author copies are on the way. Reading these emails, to be honest,  made my stomach flip a little.

You know that feeling when you’re on a roller coaster and you feel like you’re tummy just drops out? That coupled with a sick feeling like your about to throw up. That pretty much sums up how I feel. When I was writing the book and wading through self-doubt and angst about why I was doing this, a great friend gave me some advice.

She said that these feelings are good, what you’re writing and saying needs to be said, so these feelings are normal. So normal in facet, she went on to say, if I didn’t have them she would be curious as to why. As a published author, she knows exactly how I feel. So, I have clung to her words over the past year and today I’m squeezing the life out of them.

‘True You’ has been a passion project nearly two years in the making.

At times, I became overwhelmed by the women who shared their stories with me, their truth. They are the brave ones and I think about them all the time. I cannot wait for you to get to know their stories because I’m convinced that you, like me, will find yourself within the pages of their lived experiences. The joy, the pain and the process.

For me, one of my favourite parts of the book is the dedication.

It still makes me cry when I read it because although only a few words, it speaks of us all. I hope you’ll like it too. Letting this project take flight comes with a great big ball of emotions.  Thank you for being my people and for cheering me on all the way, I am so appreciative of the amount of support already for ‘True You’. A shameless plug before I sign off….
